Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications (B.A.)

Our program is for people who have the passion to plunge into full-time filmmaking, and to commit themselves to a focused and demanding curriculum.

As in all ATAFOM Media & Communications Faculty programs, the one-year course emphasises hands-on learning. Film directing classes are not theoretical explorations; they are practical workshops designed to put students in the director’s chair as quickly as possible. ATAFOM Media & Communications Faculty encourages students to take creative risks and find their own voices as visual artists.

Students complete the year in filmmaking with skills in all the filmmaking crafts, an enormous amount of production experience, eight films of their own, a one-year diploma, and an expanded awareness of themselves and others. Students’ final films are celebrated in a school screening open to cast, crew, friends, family, and invited guests.

Faculty of Economics

Gain the knowledge and analytical skills to understand global markets, shape financial strategies, and drive economic growth in an interconnected world.

Every day, the economy is gaining more space in our lives. Everything runs with, through and under the control of the economy.

School, work, progress, enjoyment, vacation, and pretty much everything is determined by the economy.

The ATAFOM Faculty of Economics has developed a curriculum together with internationally experienced, successful economists, professors and institutions, which is intended to train economists, futurists and leaders from the ATAFOM students.

The ATAFOM professors and lecturers have the global experiences and successes that ATAFOM students want and will pass on.

Message from the Dean — Prof. Dr. David T. Nightingale

Dear All,

It is a pleasure to be speaking from the position of the Dean of the Economics Faculty at the ATAFOM University.

I do look forward to empowering all young people and all prospective students with knowledge of how Economics can improve their quality of life and Standard of Living both in the Developed World and those countries that act as Primary Producers to support the Means of Production.

We believe our course will teach Real Economics and teach our students how to go into business and how to finance an operation with the full cooperation of the Government, NGOs, Central Banks, National Banks, and Advisory committees. We also intend to teach them a good grounding in banking History and National and International Law.

It is our intention to integrate the lessons and axioms of economics and provide real-world paradigms that will be passed down from Professor to Student and have a positive impact on the domestic economy as these truths become self-evident, and self-proving as the economy prospers.

As teachers, our contribution will be to deliver the POC (Proof of Concept) and POV (Proof of Value) that an egalitarian education in contemporary Macro and Micro Economics will benefit and add value to our student’s educational journey to empowerment and understanding.

I invite the new intake of students to familiarise themselves with the current curriculum and take some time out to do some general research and possibly send us any questions that they may have at this stage. We will of course provide reading lists prior to enrolment in the semester, but it would be good to see where our student’s imaginations take them at this early stage of the process.

Kind Regards,

Prof. Dr. David Nightingale

Message from the Dean — Assoc. Prof. Tino Herold

Dear colleagues, partners, students, and members of our global academic and professional community,

It is my great pleasure to extend a warm welcome on behalf of the Faculty of Technology at ATAFOM University International. At a time when technological innovation is advancing at an unprecedented pace, ATAFOM University International is committed to shaping the future through excellence in research, education, and international collaboration. Our mission extends beyond knowledge transfer—we strive to create transformative solutions that address global challenges and empower future generations. As a forward-looking institution, ATAFOM has established itself at the forefront of two of the most influential technological domains of our time: Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Technologies. These disciplines are redefining the boundaries of what is computationally possible and opening entirely new pathways for scientific and industrial progress.

Within the field of Artificial Intelligence, our researchers and students are exploring the next generation of intelligent systems, moving beyond conventional AI models toward autonomous, adaptive, and decision-capable architectures. The emergence of AI Agents and the broader paradigm of Agentic AI represents a significant evolution—from systems that merely assist humans to intelligent entities capable of reasoning, planning, and executing complex tasks within dynamic environments. These innovations hold transformative potential across healthcare, manufacturing, finance, public infrastructure, and many other sectors.

At the same time, ATAFOM University International is actively advancing research in Quantum Computing and Quantum-Enhanced Algorithms, unlocking new opportunities in optimization, cryptography, and large-scale simulation. By combining quantum principles with advanced AI methodologies, our faculty is pioneering hybrid approaches designed to solve problems that were once considered beyond the reach of traditional computing.

A cornerstone of our vision is the development of integrated technology ecosystems. Our work encompasses not only software innovation but also the seamless orchestration of hardware infrastructures, network architectures, and intelligent data platforms. The design and implementation of modern, scalable, and sustainable data centers play a crucial role in this strategy, providing the computational foundation required for future AI and quantum applications.

What distinguishes ATAFOM University International is our holistic, end-to-end approach to technological innovation. From data acquisition and processing pipelines to intelligent orchestration layers connecting AI agents, cloud environments, and quantum resources, we focus on creating fully functional ecosystems rather than isolated technological solutions. This systems-oriented perspective enables us to transform groundbreaking ideas into practical, real-world impact.

None of these achievements would be possible without strong partnerships. ATAFOM actively collaborates with industry leaders, research institutions, governmental organizations, and international stakeholders to ensure that our work remains relevant, responsible, and impactful. Equally important is our commitment to educating the next generation of engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators by equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and mindset required to lead in an increasingly technology-driven world.

As we look toward the future, ATAFOM University International remains guided by a clear ambition: to advance technology not only through innovation, but through meaningful contributions to society. We invite you to join us on this journey—through partnership, dialogue, research, and shared aspirations—as we build the technologies and opportunities of tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Assoc. Prof. Tino Herold, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, ATAFOM University International

Message from the Dean — Prof. David Grzan

I am privileged and honored to have been appointed by ATAFOM University International as Dean of the Faculty of Initial Public Offering (“IPO”). My passion is to prepare students for success in their chosen careers and lives by teaching financial literacy, a force multiplier for thriving in virtually any profession, vocation, business, or domestic endeavor. That said, for those students who aim to make their mark in the world through a career in finance or, more specifically, in private equity, investment banking, venture capital, alternative investments, or perhaps as a founding entrepreneur of a startup company with aspirations of crowning their ambitions with an IPO, I especially wish to help prepare those students for the challenges and opportunities ahead.

An IPO is the process of offering a private corporation’s shares, or ownership, to the public in a new stock issuance for the first time. The iconic acronym IPO is synonymous with the capital formation process, wealth creation, and entrepreneurial spirit. The IPO curriculum will compass that and other pathways that drive the capital formation process, wealth creation, and entrepreneurial spirit to include alternative investments such as hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, and private debt, as well as tangible assets such as real estate, infrastructure, natural resources, and art.

Our IPO curriculums are not just about theoretical knowledge. They are about practical skills that will prepare you for the real world. You’ll learn how to form and found a start-up company, build teams, pitch to capital, fund companies and projects. You’ll gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies like blockchain, web3, tokenization, smart contracts, NFTs, AI, and how digital currencies and decentralized finance are challenging the status quo. You’ll also develop a deep understanding of private exchanges, regulatory and compliance matters, corporate governance and ethics, intellectual property protection, financial analysis, engineering and modeling, and why some STO/IPOs become unicorns poised for an eventual IPO or some other exit strategy.

The IPO space is a world of endless possibilities waiting to be explored. With over 55,000 companies listed on stock exchanges worldwide and every company having to go through the IPO process, the opportunities for companies to capitalize on the IPO experience are as vast as they are exciting for issuers and investors alike. And that’s not all. The growth of the alternative investment industry is approaching the $20 trillion mark, and the secondary markets for private market securities are set to revolutionize the financial world with significant advancements in price discovery tools and creative provisions for added liquidity in otherwise illiquid markets. Join us at ATAFOM University International, and together, we’ll dive into the exciting world of IPOs and alternative investments.

Best regards,

Prof. David Grzan

Credit System And Study Regulations

Choice based credit system for all full-time bachelor’s programmes.

Credits

Each course is normally assigned one credit per lecture per week and one credit for two periods of tutorials or part thereof for laboratory or practical/internship per week. Each semester curriculum shall normally have a blend of theory and practical courses.

The credits are calculated from the estimated time and the estimated workload that is required on average for the completion of individual courses, modules, etc. The workload is made up of all learning activities that are part of a degree and are checked by means of a performance assessment. In addition to participating in courses such as lectures, tutorials, and seminars, self-study (library work or term paper), exam preparation, final theses, and final exams also contribute to the acquisition of credits. Credits are only awarded if the course has been completed and all course achievements and examinations have been passed in accordance with the examination regulations.

1 credit corresponds to a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 30 real hours of 60 minutes each of the student’s actual workload. In each year the total number of credits is 60. This corresponds to an actual workload of at least 1,500 (45 weeks for 33.33 hours per week or 25 hours per credit) or a maximum of 1,800 hours (45 weeks for 40 hours per week or 30 hours per credit).

240 credits must be earned in order to be awarded the degree.

Duration of the programme

A student is normally expected to complete a bachelor’s program in four years but in any case not more than seven years from the time of admission, otherwise the student would be considered not fit for technical education (NFTE).

Registration for courses

A newly admitted student will automatically be registered for all the courses prescribed for the first year, without any option. Every other student shall submit a completed registration form indicating the list of courses intended to be credited during the next semester. This registration will be done ten days before the last working day of the current semester. Late registration with the approval of the Dean’s office on the recommendation of the head of the department along with a late fee will be done, up to the last working day.

Registration for the project work shall be done only for the final semester.

Attendance requirements

The attendance will be calculated semester-wise. To be eligible to appear for the examination in a particular course, a student must put in a minimum of 80% of attendance in the course. The attendance should be considered which is logged in the university portal by the teachers. However, if the attendance is 70% or above but less than 80% in any course, the Dean’s office can permit the student to appear for the examination in the course on payment of the prescribed condonation fee. A student who withdraws from or does not meet the minimum attendance requirement in the course must re-register for and repeat the respective semester.

Passing and declaration of examination results

All assessments of all the courses on the absolute mark basis will be considered and passed by the result passing board in accordance with the rules of the university. Thereafter, the controller of examinations shall convert the marks for each course to the corresponding letter grade as follows, compute the grade point average and cumulative grade point average, and prepare the grade cards.

  • 90 to 100 marks – Grade ‘A+’
  • 80 to 89 marks – Grade ‘A’
  • 70 to 79 marks – Grade ‘B’
  • 60 to 69 marks – Grade ‘C’
  • 55 to 59 marks – Grade ‘D’
  • 50 to 54 marks – Grade ‘E’
  • Less than 50 marks – Grade ‘F’
  • Insufficient attendance – Grade ‘I’
  • Withdrawn from the course – Grade ‘W’
  • A student who obtains less than 50 marks out of 100 in a particular subject or less than 20 out of 50 in an external exam or is absent for the examination will be awarded Grade ‘F’.
  • A student who earns a grade of A+, A, B, C, D, or E for a course is declared to have successfully completed that course and earned the credits for that course. Such a course cannot be repeated by the student.
  • A student who obtains a letter grade F in a course has to reappear for the examination in that particular course.
  • A student who obtains letter grade I or W in a course has to re-register for and repeat the course.
  • The following grade points are associated with each letter grade for calculating the grade point average: A+ – 10; A – 9; B – 8; C – 7; D – 6; E – 5; F – 0.
  • Courses with grades I and W are not considered for the calculation of grade point average or cumulative grade point average. F Grade will be considered for computing GPA and CGPA.
  • A student can apply for a re-total of one or more of his examination answer papers within a week from the date of issue of the grade sheet to the student on payment of the prescribed fee per paper. The application must be made to the controller of examinations with the recommendation of the head of the department.
  • After results are declared, grade cards will be issued to the students. The grade card will contain the list of courses registered during the year/semester, the grades scored, and the grade point average (GPA) for the year/semester.
  • GPA is the sum of the products of the number of credits of a course with the grade point scored in that course, taken over all the courses for the year/semester, divided by the sum of the number of credits for all courses taken in that year/semester. CGPA is similarly calculated considering all the courses taken from the time of admission.
